"Masters of the Cloth" presents fifty odd examples that survived either by chance or because they were treasured heirlooms carefully passed on from generation to generation.
The earliest textiles date to the 13th and 14th centuries traded into the Java Seas. This means that they were imported into maritime south-east Asia well before the arrival of European trading companies in the Indian Ocean world.
The spectacle of Indian Trade Textiles comes alive with explanatory text and special Exhibition Catalogue. (paperback, 58 pages)
